Girl Scouts strives to provide opportunities for girls that enhances exposure and deepens engagement in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  Girls are becoming savvy, innovative, aspiring science and engineering leaders and through Girl Scouting, girls are bridging the gap on this male-dominant career field.

The world of STEM is embedded in many programmatic opportunities with Girl Scouts—North Carolina Coastal Pines.  Resident and Day Camp, Council Sponsored Events, and STEM specific series are available through Girl Scouting and will provide girls with new and exciting ways to stay engaged in STEM.  Girls will learn hands-on about anything from robotics and simple machines to the media around us and how science can make the world a better place.

Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines offers more than 50 STEM events every year, on a wide range of topics!  Check out our Program Guides for all the terrific offerings each year.

In addition, our council supports several initiatives which promote STEM in our communities.  We have several girl teams who participate in the FIRST  program, which helps girls explore the world of robotics and innovative ways to use technology to help others!  We also have several robotics events scheduled for Girl Scout Brownies through Girl Scout Seniors.

Have a Girl Scout Teen who is proud of her geek status? She can apply to become a part of an elite team called STEM STARS, where she'll learn about STEM careers and educational opportunities.

Interested in careers which focus on science or technology? Watch our Inner-views podcast series focuses on North Carolina women in science, engineering, technology and mathematics (STEM).
