Operation Cookie Drop - Support our Military!
Operation Cookie Drop is a program through which customers make donations, which are used to purchase Girl Scout cookies for our brave deployed military troops.
In 2013, customers donated enough funds to send nearly 100,000 boxes of cookies through the program. Since the program started in 2004, more than half a million (607,952) boxes of cookies have been shipped to our military troops.
How it works
Customers give monetary donations to a Girl Scout or Girl Scout troop during the annual cookie sale program. The cookies are then shipped overseas to military personnel serving from Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point, Fort Bragg, and Seymour Johnson AFB in May. In addition, USOs in Jacksonville and Raleigh plus NCPacks4Patriots distribute Girl Scout cookies to the military personnel they serve.
Here's What the Soldiers and their Families Have to Say:
“I am emailing to thank you all for the cookies we received here in Afghanistan. The Soldiers really enjoyed them. We fail to realize all the things we took for granted back in the states, and yes the Girl Scout cookies were one of those things. We received boxes for a company of 120 soldiers and how we fought over our favorite ones of course. Again, thank you for all of your support and cookies.” – Soldier with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan
“Thank you for sending cookies to the soldiers in Afghanistan!” – Daughter of a soldier
“Thank you for thinking of our soldiers. They are always happy to ‘hear’ from people and the treat of cookies is wonderful!” – Wife of a soldier
