Event Description:  Let's take a ferry ride! Explore the end of the Shackleford Banks which is bordered by hundreds of acres of salt marsh teeming with life. In this program you could encounter dolphin and banker ponies and catch and study marine life while visiting very remote and scenic beach. In this 3 hour adventure, you can visit the lighthouse too! This is not a drop off event. Troops must meet safety ratios and individually registered Girl Scouts must attend with a caregiver. Space is limited. Please do not bring extra adults. Spring Date to come!

 

Grade Levels:  Daisy - Ambassador, GSNCCP Members Only 

Fees:  GSNCCP Member $45 per Girl Scout / $45 per adult

Location: Harkers Island Ferry, Harkers Island, 28531

Registration: August 11, 2025 - October 7, 2025

 

Adult Supervision:Individual girls attending events must have an adult registered to attend the event with them.  If 3 or more girls from the same troop are attending an event, then it is considered a troop event.  For troop events, only the number of adults needed to meet the safety ratio in Safety Activity Checkpoints should register and attend the event.  Any adult attending an overnight event must be a registered Girl Scout member with a completed background check on file. 

 

Event Confirmation Packet/Details:  All the details that you need to attend this event can be found in the event confirmation packet.  Once it is finalized, you will see it when you go to the My Events page of your My GS account and select the event from the list.  All registered participants will also receive a copy via email closer to the event date and after registration closes for the event.  Please review the packet at least several days prior to the event so you will have time to adequately prepare for the event and to ask questions, if needed. 

 

Cancellation Policy 

  • For cancellations received by October 3, 2025, we will refund to original method of payment. 
  • For cancellations received between October 4, 2025 and October 17, 2025, we will refund to original method of payment minus $23 cancellation fee. 
  • In case of illness or family emergency, cancellations received by October 28, 2025 will be refunded to original method of payment minus cancellation fees and costs as applicable. 
  • Please send all cancellation requests to helpdesk@nccoastalpines.org. Requests will be processed based on the date received.
