Please read this entire column for additional information BEFORE selecting your number of girl and/or adult participants in the right-hand column on the registration page.
This is a rain or shine event hosted by the local New Hanover County
Service Unit volunteers to encourage NCCP Girl Scouts to explore and
play in their local NC State Park.
Please dress
appropriately for the weather and don't forget your bug spray and
sunscreen. Sturdy shoes for walking trails and a rain coat or poncho
are also suggested. Don't forget your full reusable water bottle to
stay hydrated.
During the two hour event Girl Scouts will
complete national proficiency badge work appropriate to their Girl
Scouting level, earn the annual Girl Scouts Love State Parks fun
patch, complete steps in the Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors event, and
collect "acorns" towards becoming an official North Carolina
State Park Junior Ranger and more! We will also be joined by a real NC
State Park Ranger and other park staff as well as other community
organizations.
Feel free to pack a picnic for afterwards,
bring your binoculars for bird watching, take a hike on the
carnivorous plant trail, or plan to explore the park as you'd like
after visiting the stations and areas during the event.
Please note this years event will take place around the Welcome Center
instead of the usual picnic area. Carpooling is highly recommended due
to parking constraints.
***Girl Scouts must be
accompanied by chaperones or their Troop Co-Leaders/Volunteers, please
stick to the girl and adult ratios set by Safety Activity

For cancellations received by August 30, 2025, we will refund to original method of payment minus $2 cancellation fee.
For cancellations received between August 31 and September 12, 2025 , we will refund to original method of payment minus $5 cancellation fee.
In case of illness or family emergency, cancellations received by September 23, 2025 will be refunded to original method of payment minus cancellation fees and costs as applicable.
