Event Description: We are excited you will be joining
us for the Camping LITE..all but the NIGHT Girl Scout event on
Saturday October 18th, from 9-1 pm at Carolina Beach State Park.
The event will take place at the group campsite just off the
flytrap trail. Once you enter the park take the first paved road to
the left which will lead you to a small parking lot at the flytrap
trail. Parking is limited in this lot so best if you carpool from home
or park at the visitors center and carpool over to the area. You will
need to park and take a short hike to the group campsite which is
marked with 3 small triangles on a sign. There will be event signs as
well to follow.
Please remember to dress appropriately
for camp day activities and weather - layer up, hair up, closed toe
shoes. Bring a filled water bottle. Bring a blanket or towel or sit
upon for the girls to hang out on for a light lunch around the
campfire. There is a pit toilet at the campsite but the nearest
bathroom is the visitor center.
We will learn/refresh
some camping skills, take a short hike and end with campfire
traditions and a light lunch. Leaders, the activities are
girl-centered but if you have any questions or need ideas for anything
camping related there will be seasoned adult leaders happy to mentor
you in all things camping related!
This event is planned and organized by New Hanover County Service Unit.

Registration Dates: August 13, 2025 - October 9, 2025
Adult Supervision:Individual girls attending events must have an adult registered to attend the event with them. If 3 or more girls from the same troop are attending an event, then it is considered a troop event and the number of adults registered to attend should meet the safety ratio in Safety Activity Checkpoints. Any adult attending an overnight event must be a registered Girl Scout member with a completed background check on file.
Event Confirmation Packet/Details: All the details that you need to attend this event can be found in the event confirmation packet. Once it is finalized, you will see it when you go to the My Events page of your My GS account and select the event from the list. All registered participants will also receive a copy via email closer to the event date and after registration closes for the event. Please review the packet at least several days prior to the event so you will have time to adequately prepare for the event and to ask questions, if needed.
Cancellation Policy
- For cancellations received by October 6, 2025, we will refund to original method of payment.

For cancellations received after October 6, 2025, we will refund to original method of payment minus $7 cancellation fee.

In case of illness or family emergency, cancellations received by October 28, 2025 will be refunded to original method of payment minus cancellation fees and costs as applicable.
