This class is for current certified
American Red Cross Lifeguards that are up for recertification.
Candidates for this class must have a current certification, or a
certification that has expired NO MORE than 30 days before the
completion of this course. This certification meets the Safety
Activity Checkpoints to take your troop swimming in a pool and at the
waterfront. Overnight stays are required. You must be present for the
entire course. This session includes a First Aid/CPR component. The
First Aid/CPR component requires additional work to be completed
online prior to the session. Please note that the blended learning
link closes out 24 hours prior to the actual start of the class and
cannot be reopened. Please bring a water bottle.
Please
note that while the trainers will do their best to complete all
aspects of the training in one weekend, this training is weather
dependent. The training is packed full of content to complete with
little room for adjusting to weather disruptions. Therefore, it is
possible that the weather may not allow us to complete every aspect of
this training and if this happens, participants will be asked to come
back at another time to complete the course.
Participants
will arrive at camp no later than 5:00pm on Friday, May 17, 2025, to
drop off their belongings and meet at the CMA pool to complete the
course prerequisites testing including the brick test at an off-site
deep-water pool that evening.
