Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Replica
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be at the Wayne Community College campus in Goldsboro on April 19-21, 2013. On April 19, a ceremony will be performed at 5:00 p.m. and Girl Scouts are being asked to participate. They will need to be in full uniform, and each girl will hold a lighted candle (battery-operated) to represent names on the wall. If girls in your troop are interested in participating, please contact Grazia Mostella at email@example.com or 919-432-6123. Each girl must submit a parental permission form prior to the event.
The presence of the wall will form a backdrop for a variety of programs and exhibits. This project is designed to honor the veterans of all branches of the United States armed forces, particularly those who served in the era of the Vietnam War. The intent of the project is to bring to community members of all ages a deeper awareness of the Vietnam War and of the personal sacrifices made by the men and women who served in active units in Southeast Asia and in support units at home and abroad. Particular attention will be given to the participation of those veterans from Wayne and surrounding counties in North Carolina.
