Sailing Combo - Camp Graham

This course combines Basics of Sailing and Small Craft Safety Sailing. Participants who pass all skill and written tests at the Small Craft Safety level will meet the Safety Activity Checkpoints for supervision of sailing activities with their troop. The cost of the course includes lodging, meals, and the certification. This course requires the purchase of the Start Sailing Right book and the Small Craft Safety Book.
Prerequisites: There are no boating pre-requisites for this course. All participants must be able to appropriate put on and size a life jacket. They must also be able to swim 25 yards without a lifejacket without stopping, then swim another 25 yards wearing a lifejacket, and tread water for 2 minutes without a lifejacket.
Course Requirements: Students must successfully demonstrate all skills to receive certification. They must also pass a final written examination with a score of at least 80% in each craft. Small Craft Safety certificates are valid for 3 years.
