Outdoor Skills Planning & Overnight - Chatham 07-25-13
Troops who participate in camping activities are required to have an Outdoor skills certified adult.
Outdoor skills is offered in 2 parts - a planning session AND an overnight component where adults will learn how to prepare and implement a successful Girl Scout camping trip! Troop leaders may recruit parents/helpers to take this course and serve as the outdoor-trained adult. Both the planning session and the overnight must be completed in order to be an outdoor trained adult for the troop.
Outdoor-trained volunteers must be registered members & have successfully completed a criminal background check through the council. Both of these items need to be completed prior to registering for training.
Volunteer essentials is highly recommended for non-leaders prior to the outdoor skills class.
Participants will bring a bag lunch for Sat. Participants will cook their dinner Sat night and their breakfast Sun morning. Food is provided for the meals to be cooked.
