Girl Scouts Service Project - February 23 or 24
North Carolina State Parks are celebrating the Year of the Wildflower in 2013. Help us celebrate with a fun service project at a park. We will be filling small envelopes with NC native wildflower seeds and stapling them to cards. The seed cards will be used during fun wildflower walks all across North Carolina. Following an hour-long service project, a park ranger will be able to lead scouts on a walk in the park to see some of the year's first wildflowers bloom. Scouts will also go home with their own potted seeds. The program is best-suited for Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes. Each session can accommodate between 6 and 20 scouts.
This program may be scheduled anytime from 9:00 am through sunset on Saturday, February 23rd or Sunday, February 24th, or during the week after school at one of the following state parks.
Jordan Lake State Recreation Area
Eno River State Park
William B. Umstead State Park
