Please read this entire column for additional information BEFORE selecting your number of girl and/or adult participants in the right-hand column on the registration page.

 

Event Description:  
This course meets council requirement for adult volunteers to serve as a Level 2 First Aider and is open to all registered adults who currently hold an American Red Cross, American Heart Association or National Safety Council Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED Certification. WRFA provides individuals with a foundation of first aid principles and skills in order to respond to emergencies and give care in areas 30 minutes or more away from local emergency medical services (EMS) response. This includes wilderness and remote environments, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes.

Location: Camp Hardee, Beaufort County, 27814

 

Fees: GSNCCP Member $32 per 8th grade Cadettes - Ambassador, $32 per adult

 

Registration:  February 9, 2024 - May 30, 2024

 

Please note TWO course prerequisites:

* Must be a registered Girl Scout member with a current background check
* Possess current adult CPR/AED certification

 

This class is available to currently registered adults with an eligible background check and to currently registered teens. 
Girl participants must be at least 14 years old at the time of the session and have a unique email address on their profile in My GS. 
It cannot be the same email address on the profile of the primary guardian. 
Please contact the Help Desk at the number below if you need assistance in updating the email address for your girl participant.

The Wilderness and Remote First Aid Emergency reference guide and pocket guide is included in fee.

 

There is an additional $25 fee for meals. This includes Breakfast/Lunch on Saturday and Sunday, Saturday Dinner, and snacks.  Please select this option at time of registration as it cannot be added later.  If you have dietary constraints, you may select the meal option to bring your own meals/snacks.  There is no additional charge for bringing your own meals.

 

Please note - Please note that this course does not allow for complete social/physical distancing. There are skill tests that require direct physical contact with other class participants. The majority of the course will take place outdoors. During indoor components, we highly recommend that a mask be worn regardless of vaccination status. There will be some opportunities to mask when in close contact outdoors, wearing a mask at times may not be possible when demonstrating a skill. In closer alignment with the American Red Cross, our certifying agency, we recommend (not require) that when taking this course, one either be vaccinated or test negative for covid-19 at least 3 days prior to attending this class to better ensure the safety of all participants.

 

Dietary restrictions may be indicated below; however, please note that allergens may still be on the premises.

 

Event Confirmation Packet/Details:  All the details that you need to attend this event can be found in the event confirmation packet.  Once it is finalized, you will see it when you go to the My Events page of your My GS account and select the event from the list.  All registered participants will also receive a copy via email closer to the event date and after registration closes for the event.  Please review the packet at least several days prior to the event so you will have time to adequately prepare for the event and to ask questions, if needed. 

 

 

Cancellation Policy

  • For cancellations received by May 30, 2024, we will refund to original method of payment.
  • For cancellations received between May 31, 2024 and June 13, 2024, we will refund to original method of payment minus $15 cancellation fee.
  • In case of illness or family emergency, cancellations received by June 24, 2024 will be refunded to original method of payment minus cancellation fees and costs as applicable.
  • Please send all cancellation requests to helpdesk@nccoastalpines.org.  Requests will be processed based on the date received.
