Please read the entire left-hand column for important details BEFORE selecting the number of adults or teens to register in the right-hand column.

This class is available to currently registered adults with an eligible background check and to currently registered teens.
Girl participants must be at least 14 years old at the time of the session and have a unique email address on their profile in My GS.  It cannot be the same email address on the profile of the primary guardian.  This is the email address that will be used to create an American Red Cross account to complete the online part of the course.  Please contact the Help Desk at the number below if you need assistance in updating the email address for your girl participant.

Please bring a towel or mat and a water bottle. Also bring a copy of your online portion completion either printed or on your phone.

This course combines online work and instructor-led practice and skill testing. Participants must be able to complete two and a half (2 ½) hours of online course work prior to training and be able to print or email proof of completion to the instructor. Proof of course work can also be shown to the instructor using your cell phone. A link to the online training will be immediately available in the Additional Documentation on the event on the My Events page in your My GS account.

During the instructor-led portion, participants will participate in “watch-then-practice” and hands-on training. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to recognize emergencies, care for injuries or illnesses and perform CPR until professional help arrives. Your electronic certificate will be emailed to you by the American Red Cross within 2 weeks after the successful completion of the instructor-led portion of this class.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, all participants are required to view the Volunteer and Member Self-Screening Checklist prior to the start of class. All participants will be required to be six feet apart and wear a mask during the in-person skills session. Please also keep in mind that no food or drink will be allowed to be consumed in class. We ask that participants momentarily step out of the room to consume any food or drink. Other classroom precautions will be taken.
