Through Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through the Girl Scout leadership program, girls grow courageous and strong through a variety of enriching experiences, such as field trips, skill-building events, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships.
Studies have shown that one of the most effective ways to boost a nation’s economic output, enhance productivity, and improve the overall vibrancy of society is to invest in the leadership capabilities of girls and women. Committed to building the next generation of women leaders, Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines has launched The Daisy Chain, a new women’s affinity group of investors that brings women leaders together to link girls to their potential through investments, advocacy, and networking. The group’s inaugural event was held at More. Kitchen & Bar on Thursday, January 19 and was open to all members committed to empowering girl leaders of tomorrow and who generously provide support at various giving levels.
All women are invited to join and invest in The Daisy Chain. The group stemmed from an idea from Girl Scout alumnae, troop leaders, business owners, and board members wanting to provide local Girl Scouts with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). The GSLE encourages girls to discover themselves, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. Participating in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience helps girls develop important leadership skills they need to become successful adults. The Daisy Chain will support girls and engage in age-appropriate activities that are girl-led, cooperative, and hands-on.
Membership to The Daisy Chain is reserved for leadership investors whose commitment reflects their belief that when we invest in girls, they can change our world. As a member, the group will be invited to mentor and support girls with the council’s Leadership Series, as well as share their expertise with other members of The Daisy Chain. They will also receive access to special events and leadership opportunities.
