Military Troops Receive A Sweet Taste of Home From Girl Scouts

On Thursday, December 1, Girl Scouts from Troop #3004 brought the holiday cheer as the delivered some sweet treats for deployed and returning military men and women to USO of North Carolina at RDU International Airport.

A part of the Fall Product Program, the Treats for Troops program offers an opportunity for customers to make donations to purchase treats for the military. With over 3,000 Girl Scouts from across North Carolina participating in this year’s program, the program raised enough money to purchase 2,416 cans of nuts and candies to be given to the USO of North Carolina at RDU for distribution to military members traveling through the airport during the holiday season as they leave for and return home from deployments.

As the top selling troop, Troop #3004 from Pitt County unload numerous boxes of goodies and later enjoyed a tour of the USO. The girls were thrilled to be able to support and give back to those who give so much by through service to our country.
