The 2017 Cookie Program is right around the corner and Girl Scouts from the North Carolina Coastal Pines Council are already honing their financial skills as they prepare to run their very own cookie business.
On Saturday, December 3, over 200 Girl Scouts had the opportunity to learn and brush up on important skills used throughoutthe 2017 Cookie Program while attending Cookie Boss 101. As part of the special event, Girl Scouts were able to participate in interactive and informative activity stations that were based on the five key skills girls learn during the Cookie Program including: goal setting, decision making, people skills, money management and business ethics. As girls rotated from one activity to the next, they collected the 5 Skills bracelets demonstrating their mastery of each skill, and were able to fulfill all necessary criteria to earn one of their Cookie Business badges at the close of the end.
As part of the largest girl-led business in the world, Girl Scouts had the opportunity to learn important financial skill while selling one of America’s favorite cookies!
