Thanks to the Moore Women organization, Girl Scouts in Moore County will be able to experience more of the many benefits of Girl Scouting. Members of “A Giving Circle” presented Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines with $2,000 for start-up funds in support of troops in under resourced areas of Moore County.
"We are thrilled that this generous grant will allow Moore County troops to have the full Girl Scout experience," said Laura Douglass, membership director for Moore and Harnett Counties. "These much-welcomed funds will be well used."
The funds will be used to offset the coasts of membership dues, basic uniform pieces, pins, patches, badges, insignia, and curriculum materials (Journey books, etc.).
Moore Women-A Giving Circle is a fund under the Moore County Community Foundation, which is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. The NCCF partners with 60 affiliate foundations to provide local resource allocation and community assistance in 67 counties across the state, ensuring that rural philanthropy has a voice at local, regional and national levels.
