Camp Mary Atkinson

Located in Johnston County, our flagship camp consists of 262 wooded acres of land connected to a working mill. The property offers the traditional camp experience with high adventure elements. Camp facilities include hiking trails, a swimming pool, a lake, and a challenge-by-choice climbing tower. The property hosts two platform tent units, two cabin units and lots of open fields that are ideal for tent camping and group activities. In addition, its Program Building and Craft Shelter offer covered areas to meet and do activities.

Camp Mary Atkinson is used for resident camp during the summer months but is available for troop camping, service unit events and community rental during the rest of the year.

Summer Camp at CMA

During the summer months, CMA is home to traditional resident camp, day camp, adventure trips and an on-site horse program. Depending on age level, campers are offered the chance to climb the alpine tower and boulder on the climbing grotto. Access to a zero entry swimming pool and lake offers campers a chance to swim multiple times a day as well as participate in watercraft activities that include canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding.

Leadership Center

The Girl Scout Leadership Center offers 16,000 square feet of corporate and community meeting space and commercial kitchen with views of forest and woodland meadow. The Girl Scout Leadership Center is the ideal location for corporate retreats, workshops, board meetings, and breakfast and lunch gatherings.  During the summer months, it’s used as the dining hall for resident and day camps.
