To register online for a learning opportunity:
- Create a volunteer login profile (first use only)
- Click the links to the left to see dates, times, and locations for a specific workshop
- Select the workshop you would like to attend, then click "Add to Cart"
- Complete the check-out process
- You will receive an email confirming the receipt of your request, and a confirmation email of approval will be sent approximately two weeks prior to the session. In case of course cancelation, you will receive notification.

We strongly encourage volunteers to take advantage of the fun workshop opportunities provided as enrichment classes or at adult events to enhance the program you provide to girls.
- Classes that do not meet the minimum participation number on the deadline date (deadline is two weeks prior to the class date) will be canceled, and you will be notified.
- Workshop confirmation letters are emailed approximately two weeks before the class.
- To ensure the safety of our girls and volunteers, exact locations are not posted on this site. Please refer to the Lead On guide for location information. To-be-announced locations are provided to you with your confirmation. If you do not receive this information, please call the Training Registrar at 919-782-3021, ext. 3323 or 1-800-284-4475, extension 3323. Times and locations are subject to change.
- Read your confirmations carefully. It may contain changes in location and/or time.
- Registrations may be accepted on or after the deadline date, contingent on space available. Please call the Training Registrar at 919-782-3021, extension 3323 for late registration information.
- If you have not registered for an event, do not “drop-in”. Our volunteer Facilitators want your learning experience to be as pleasant as possible. Non-registered participants could cause overcrowding due to the space limitations of some facilities, and the necessary resources may not be available for those not registered.
- Please observe course schedules. Credit for a course can not be given if you leave early.
Changes or Cancelations
- If you must cancel your registration, please notify the council Training Registrar immediately. Some classes have waiting lists and, with notice, we may be able to fill your place in the workshop.
- Only those registered will be notified of class cancelations and time or location changes.
- When a class is canceled please reregister for another class by sending in a new registration form or by notifying the Training Registrar of your choice for a new workshop date.
Workshop Information
- Fees must be mailed with the registration form. If you fax a registration form, you may pay your fee by completing the credit card section on the form (there is a minimum charge of $7 required for credit card charges). No faxed or Internet registrations will be accepted without this information – no exceptions!
- Please make all checks and money orders payable to Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines, indicating the course number on your check. Fees may be paid by Visa or MasterCard (minimum charge $7).
- Refunds will be made only with four days prior notice of cancelation by the participant or if the class is full or canceled.
What to Bring
Check the description of the course materials needed. Please bring the appropriate grade level Journey and the Facilitator's guide, Safety-Wise, adult development card, pen, and paper to each course. Each Troop is provided one set of age-appropriate resources. If you are not the primary Leader, please make arrangements to borrow these materials to bring with you. You will probably want to bring lunch and a drink for sessions lasting through the noon hour, unless meal preparation is part of the course.
Volunteer Training Record Cards
A wallet-size “Adult Learning Record Card” is available for each volunteer and is distributed at your Getting Started session. Each time you complete a workshop, your facilitator will sign the card. These cards are quite useful for your own personal record, as background information when applying for the Girl Scouts of the USA Leadership Development Pin, and if you are a “Girl Scout on the Move” to another council.
Course Participant’s Workbook
When you attend a workshop, you will receive a participant booklet. This booklet contains information and program ideas about that particular session and is a great resource for the future.
Please Note
Due to the facilities and personnel available for our courses, we regret we cannot provide childcare. Children are not permitted in the sessions. We encourage you to secure a sitter, to check on community services, or to set up a reciprocal agreement with another Girl Scout adult.
Preparation
Have you planned in advance for carpooling, etc? Please plan to attend all sessions indicated. Please arrive on time and stay until the published ending time.
