Change a Life; It’s Forever. Volunteer Today.

Johnston County is always seeking adult volunteers to lead girl ages 5-17 in exciting events, enriching programs, and endless opportunities. Adult women and men, age 18 and older, are invite to join Girl Scouts as volunteers. Girl Scout membership dues are $12 annually; training and local support are provided; and meetings and activities can fit your schedule.

Adults are encouraged to register as Girl Scout members and can serve in many volunteer positions available to both women and men. Our volunteers are inspiring, invaluable, and have a profound effect on everyone they help. There would be no Girl Scouting without them!

We have many needs in Johnston County. Currently we are looking for the following volunteer positions:

Troop Leader (all levels)
The troop leader is meant to provide a progressive, comprehensive program based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law that will build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Some of the troop leader’s duties include: working with the girls to complete activities and service projects; providing girls with an age appropriate program that encourages them to be an active citizen in their environment; and allowing the girls to be full members of their troop according to their age and ability.

There is no need for previous Girl Scout experience. We provide all the training, materials and support needed to become a leader.  Training includes one short online course and one face-to-face meeting with a representative from Johnston County.  You will be ready to start working with girls in a matter of weeks!
