Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines Named 2010 Agency of Excellence - Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is pleased to announce that it has been named a 2010 Agency of Excellence by the United Way of the Greater Triangle. This distinction is given to agencies that, in addition to attaining certification as a Partner Agency, have also achieved all "best practice" standards of agency accountability.
 
Girl Scouts Receives Donation from Junior League of Fayetteville - Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is pleased to announce that it has received a donation from the Junior League of Fayetteville. The donation will help support the uniquely ME! Girl Scout Self-Esteem program, which aims to address the challenges girls face in their daily lives, in addition to helping Cumberland County girls ages 8-17 build a strong sense of self, develop healthy relationships and take care of their bodies and minds. Girl Scouts Help Launch Connect A Million Minds Program - Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines recently helped Time Warner Cable launch a new philanthropic effort entitled Connect A Million Minds (CAMM) in Wilmington, NC.  During the launch, Girl Scouts studied the concept of gyroscopes in Segways and in the weaponry on the Battleship North Carolina. Look Again!
Looking for "Mrs. B's Girls" - Jane Barringer has led Girl Scout Troop 146 for many years. Former members of this troop are planning a reunion tea in January and want to involve as many of "Mrs. B's girls" as possible. Caroling for Cans - Girl Scouts will be participating in Caroling for Cans at the State Capitol during the State Tree Lighting and Holiday Ceremony on Thursday, December 10, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The girls will carol on the Capitol grounds and collect non-perishable food items for local food banks. If your troop is interested in supporting the Girl Scouts by joining in the caroling, please contact Deanna J. Mitchell via email at deanna.kerrigan@ncdcr.gov as soon as possible. The doors of the Capitol will close at 5:00 p.m. that day so it will be imperative that you arrive prior to 4:45 p.m.! Product Sales - Reminders  
Deadline Nears for Cookie Merchandise Orders! - Don't miss this opportunity to purchase quality cookie merchandise at cost!  Items include mylar and latex balloons, tablecloths, flags, car magnets, and yard signs - all great tools to help Girl Scouts sell cookies!  Orders are due to the Product Sales Department  by December 14, 2009.

Cookie Sale Permission Forms - Reminder -
Troops or parents who need G-1 Permission and Responsibility Forms can download them directly by clicking this link: http://www.nccoastalpines.org/home/CookiesProducts/Cookies/Resources.aspx .  
Each girl participating in the 2010 Cookie Sale needs to turn in a Permission Form to her troop; girls who turned in a Permission Form for the Fall Product Sale do not need to turn in another one.  Troops should turn in signed Permission Forms to Area Cookie Managers by December 15.

GS-NCCP Facilitators Needed! - We are looking for people with a passion for Girl Scouting to serve as council facilitators!  They need to be upbeat, enthusiastic and eager to promote the Girl Scout program.  We are in need of facilitators for Volunteer Essentials, Leadership Essentials, Outdoor Skills as well as council enrichment opportunities.
