North raleigh troop gets e-mail from iraq

Raleigh, N.C. - The North Raleigh Girl Scout Troop was excited to receive a thank-you note and pictures from the platoon leader who received care packages that the girls prepared for soldiers overseas. The packages were sent to the Second Platoon 561st Military Police Company currently stationed in Bayji, Iraq. Along with other goodies, the care packages contained Beanie Babies, which were given to a newborn infant from Kurdistan whose father works with the platoon as an interpreter.


Girl Scouts - North Carolinan Coastal Pines serves more than 32,000 girls in 41 central and eastern North Carolina counties. The council's administrative headquarters are located in Raleigh.
