Raleigh, NC – Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines is pleased to announce that it has received a $15,000 donation from Golden Corral. The donation will be used to help make Girl Scouting more accessible to girls throughout our 41-county central and eastern NC jurisdiction who otherwise might not be able to experience the benefits of our life-changing leadership program, according to Rusine Mitchell Sinclair, CEO of the Girl Scouts organization.

“Golden Corral® believes in the importance of ‘giving back’ to local charities, schools and non-profit organizations in support of local communities,” said Easter Maynard, head of charitable giving for Golden Corral. “We believe in the strong programs that Girl Scouting offers to girls and young women.”

As Girl Scouting approaches its 100th anniversary, the Movement is using its expertise to create a completely new approach for what girls do in Girl Scouting, how they do it, and how they will benefit. At the center of Girl Scouting’s transformation is the launch of what is probably our biggest programming change in 50 years: a new program model called the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience engages girls in discovering themselves, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place.

“We are so grateful for Golden Corral’s long-time support,” Sinclair said. “With this generous donation from the Golden Corral, we will be able to deliver the program to so many more young women, particularly among families with limited resources, in many of the 41 counties we serve.”
