Our Girl Scout Cookie Sale is off to a great start – despite some early snow and ice. We are looking forward to sunny skies as cookie booths start this month, and cookie deliveries begin as well. Our initial order is even better than last year’s! Twenty girls have already sold more than 1,000 boxes each, and more than 200 girls have already sold 500 boxes or more. In addition, 1,600 girls earned Diva Pins by turning in an initial order for 210 boxes or more. Thank you each and every one of you – and keep up the great work!
We have a new video posted on the website, Tips from a Top Seller, featuring Jenny Pate – who sold more cookies during last year’s sale than anyone else in the council’s history. More than 9,000 people have already visited the Web page it’s posted on – but if you haven’t seen it yet, go to http://www.nccoastalpines.org/home/CookiesProducts.aspx
We’re holding the 2010 Annual Meeting March 6 in Goldsboro, NC. All members are welcome, and we’ll have breakout sessions on program and technology, the 100th anniversary, and a council property update. There is no charge to attend the meeting but recognition lunch is $14 a person. To register, go to at http://gsusa.ebiz.uapps.net/vp/?pid=7. If you want more information, contact Angela Bullock at abullock@nccoastalpines.org.
March 7-13 is Girl Scout Week and it commemorates the start of the very first Girl Scout Troop in Savannah, Georgia, 98 years ago. We’ve asked Governor Perdue to issue a proclamation in support but we’d love to get cities and counties to issue proclamations as well. Mayor Buddy Kelly of Shallotte has already proclaimed Girl Scout Week in Shallotte – and we can help you contact your mayor, city council or county commission to ask them to proclaim March 8-14th as Girl Scout Week in your city or county: Information, instructions and templates are available on our Web site (http://www.nccoastalpines.org/home/advocacy/GS_week.aspx). Or you can contact Margaret Webb (mwebb@nccoastalpines.org) for more information.
I hope by now you’ve had the chance to sign up on our new online membership data and e-Business system at http://www.nccoastalpines.org/home/member_signin.aspx . The new system allows Troop leaders to manage Troop membership and member contact information. Girls and volunteers can access their membership information, and parents can log on to update their daughter’s information. Adult members can sign up for council training opportunities.
