It's Cookie Time!

Our Girl Scout Cookie Sale is in full swing. More than 13,000 girls in 1,400 troops are already out there selling. Initial orders are way up -- with a three percent increase over last year. Caramel deLites are our number one seller, with Thin Mints close behind! A big "thank you" to everyone who works so hard to make this such a successful program!
Annual Meeting - March 3, 2012
Our 100th Anniversary celebrations have begun, and our 100th Anniversary Annual Meeting will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Members are welcome, and the luncheon costs $15 per person. To register for the meeting or the luncheon, either download the registration form and mail it in, or register online through C.O.R.E. Please email Angela Bullock for more information.
100th Anniversary Events
Anyone
wanting to know more about the plans for the 100th Anniversary can find lots of really good information on our 100th Anniversary council Web page. We need volunteers to help us with all of the upcoming events, so if you have some time to help out, let us know! There is an opportunity for everyone to join us in celebrating our 100th anniversary.
100 Proclamations in our 100th Year
We are working with the other three councils in North Carolina (Peaks to Piedmont, Hornet’s Nest, and Colonial Coast) to get 100 proclamations in our 100th year. If you would like your troop to ask your own town council or county commission to issue a proclamation honoring Girl Scouting in its 100th year, you can find templates, sample letters, and other information on our Advocacy pages.
New Alumnae Videos

We have two new alumnae videos posted on our Alumnae website -- one of Durham volunteer and former GSUSA board member Linda Foreman and the other of longtime Goldsboro volunteer Betty Kemp. Girl Scout alumnae who want to reconnect can visit GSUSA's alumnae website to join the GSUSA Alumnae Association and join the fun!
Support the Centennial Resolution
Because 2012 is such an important year in Girl Scouting, GSUSA is working with U.S. Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) and Kay Granger (R-Texas), and U.S. Sens. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) to introduce the Girl Scout Centennial Resolution in the House and Senate. You can send a message to your Congressional representatives asking them to cosponsor the resolution.
At the Speed of a Girl
If you haven't yet seen the Girl Scout exhibit, "At the Speed of a Girl - Celebrating 100 Years of Girl Scouting," at the NC Museum of History in Raleigh, make plans to see it soon. It's wonderful and well worth your time. Be sure to share your favorite Girl Scout memory while you're there!
