I’m sure you’ve noticed the new trefoil with its updated look and brighter green color - it's all part of Girl Scouts' new branding campaign. Click here for more information about these exciting changes, and to learn more about "What Did You Do Today," a multicultural public awareness and outreach campaign focusing on the experiences girls can have as Girl Scouts.

The Administrative Team Conference is August 7 at Campbell University, with lots of good fellowship and great trainings. And by the way, Fall Leaderee is scheduled for October 1-3 at Camp Mary Atkinson.

Our Girl Scout Gold Award ceremonies are almost upon us. May I extend my warmest congratulations to the 44 girls throughout our Council who have worked so hard to achieve this prestigious honor this year. We are all very proud of you.

The August deadlines are nearing for submitting nominations for the Governor's Volunteer Service Awards. Our volunteers are at the very heart of Girl Scouting, and this is your chance to recognize some of Girl Scouting's finest.  Please contact your county NC Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service volunteer awards coordinator to confirm the local deadline for submitting nominations and procedures. If your county does not have a coordinator or if you have questions, contact Tim Kelly at the Commission: 919.715.2279 or Tim.Kelly@nc.gov.  Let us know of any Girl Scouts recognized with a Governor's Volunteer Service Award, so we can share the information council-wide.

The Summer Camp 2010 season is closing down, and what wonderful memories we all have. I went to visit each camp, and I can tell you that a great deal of fun was being had! As any Girl Scout Camp alumna will tell you, there is nothing like it.

The end of summer camp brings the beginning of a brand-new Girl Scout year, so make sure to join the more than 6,000 girls and adult members who have already used our new online membership registration to renew membership or join Girl Scouts. All members should renew their memberships by September 30 in order to stay current in the system and register for council-sponsored events online in the fall. Help is available at helpdesk@nccoastalpines.org.
