In The Know With The CEO
September 2009
Welcome to September – a time for new beginnings and the season for troops who took the summer off to start up again. I hope everyone had a great summer and has come back rarin’ to go!
As we start our new year, we begin the roll-out of Journey #2 – It’s Your Planet-Love It. We are reaching out to new volunteers throughout the council and we’ve created a new online volunteer application to make the process faster, simpler and easier. Potential new volunteers can now click "volunteer now" (link) from our home page to complete the application right online. We’re always looking for women and men who want to make a difference in the life of a girl, and volunteers can also find the application form at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=UGvSmTtNW7r9E_2bMHw1AAhg_3d_3d.
The fall sale runs three and half weeks from Friday, October 16th through Sunday, November 8th. It’s a great way for troops to earn money at the beginning of the Girl Scout year, and it includes magazines, nuts and candy that make great holiday gifts. Deliveries are December 2-5, and troops can earn at least 10% in proceeds on each item sold. For more information on the fall sale, click here: http://www.nccoastalpines.org/home/CookiesProducts/FallProduct.aspx
I hope you’ve noticed that we have ‘opened’ our new online shop and you can visit us at http://shop.nccoastalpines.org. We are starting with the basics and adding new items every week. Our complete inventory will be online soon visit us there to see what’s new at our brand-new online shop!
Just a reminder that lifetime membership for graduating high school seniors stays at $130 until the end of September – which makes is a great present for your brand-new graduate. The lifetime membership fee for adults will change to $300 as of October 1st. Don’t forget that the National Delegates voted to increase the annual membership dues for girls and adults to $12 as of this Girl Scout membership year. By the way, we opened the new BCBS exercise course at Camp Mary Atkinson. It’s great fun, so give it a try if you’re anywhere near the camp. We are, of course, grateful for Blue Cross Blue Shield for their support – as we are for yours, as well. As we close down one year and begin to gear up for another, please know that we couldn’t do it without you!
