Girl Scouts - NC Coastal Pines

Hey Girls!

Next month we have our first edition of it2s informative, a girl-run Coastal Pines online newsletter. The goal of the it2 advisory team is to give the girls in our council a voice and we hope to satisfy that ambition through this website. It’s a great way for Girl Scouts around the council to find out what’s available to them in the council. There will be six different sections of the newsletters:

  • Upcoming events: We’ll describe upcoming events and registration openings. This is a great way to find out what opportunities there are in the council in the next few months.
  •  Project ideas: This will include descriptions of personal experiences with Silver and Gold Award projects. This is a great reference for coming up with ideas and overcoming any project obstacles that come up. We’ll also provide suggestions for community service projects that either you or your troop can adopt or expand on.
  • Reviews: Ever wonder if an event is worth signing up for? This is where you can find out. Here you’ll find reviews of past events, interest project patches, service projects, and the new Girl Scout changes. Not only is our own council rapidly progressing to combine two councils into one, but Girl Scouts of USA is implementing major Girl Scout changes.
  • Spotlights: The Spotlight section provides a chance for Girl Scout volunteers, leaders, and current and past members to be identified and celebrated. Interviews with these people will shed light on Girl Scout’s rich history and advice on how to stay active and committed to Girl Scouts as you grow older.
  • Dear Juliette: We wanted to provide a question and answer section so that we can address the questions you have about our council and Girl Scouts in general. E-mail it2 team with questions and you might be featured in the next edition!
  • Writer’s Lounge: The Writer’s Lounge is an opportunity for girls in the Girl Scout community to post articles on topics of interest. They don’t have to have anything to do with Girl Scouts. We’re looking for personal stories, poems, and recipes - anything that you want to share with us! See Studio 2B Writers Lounge  for an example of a Girl Scout story.

We really want this newsletter to unify the girls in the council. Don’t be a troopie, be a groupie and check out the it2s informative to branch out and find out what’s going on in Girl Scouts here in North Carolina and around the country. You never know what might catch your interest! Check us out for our first edition in March of 2008!

Yours in Girl Scouting-
the it2 team
