Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines exists to meet the unique needs of girls and to help them grow into caring and confident young women. With the support and guidance of adult volunteers, girls develop leadership skills while learning the importance of personal responsibility, the value of goal setting, the spirit of teamwork, and the thrill of accomplishment. Program Opportunities and Events
Through Girl Scouting, girls grow in courage, confidence, and character while making the world a better place. They have opportunities for leadership development, take steps to find their own voice, and thrive in a supportive environment of sister Girl Scouts and positive adult role models. These are exciting times for girls. The realignment of the Girl Scout Council of Coastal Carolina and Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council provides great opportunities for girls to use the very best and brightest resources to deliver to our girls high-quality program opportunities. With partner organizations from our own backyards - from Duke University to UNC-Wilmington, East Carolina University to UNC-Chapel Hill, and the many art, science, and history museums and historic sites scattered across central and eastern North Carolina - the opportunities are endless.

why girl Scouts?
Girl Scouting has a lasting impact on girls. It provides them with values, leadership development, diversity awareness, life skills, and community connections that last a lifetime.
- Values - Girl Scouts is a values-based organization. Girls who express a strong commitment to the Girl Scout Promise and Law are most likely to make positive moral decisions throughout their lives.
- Leadership Development - Opportunities for leadership development exist at all levels - from the youngest girls to the oldest ones. At each program age level, girls take on increasing leadership roles and responsibility for their own actions.
- Diversity Awareness - The Girl Scout Promise and Law provide a moral compass for girls and teach them to respect one another and the differences that define individuals and cultures.
- Life Skills - Girl Scouts develop the courage, confidence, and character to succeed in their adult lives.
- Community Connections - Community service is at the core of the Girl Scout program, and girls of all ages strive to make the world a better place.
Volunteers
The “girl” in Girl Scouts represents only a part of those involved. Nearly 10,000 adult volunteers serve as leaders, adult learning facilitators, special event organizers, board members, and much more. Their volunteer commitment ranges from as little as a few hours a year to a few hours a week. By cultivating and working closely with our volunteers, Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines strengthens community resources and gives each Girl Scout an opportunity to develop a stable relationship with a supportive and caring adult.
