Girl Scouts - NC Coastal Pines

Non troop Affiliated Girl Scouts  (formerly Juliettes) in the COOKIE SALE

Individually Registered Girl Scouts (“Juliettes”)
and the 2012 Cookie Sale Program

We welcome Non Troop Affiliated Girl Scouts (NTA Girl Scouts), formerly known as Juliettes, to participate in the Cookie Sale Program. There are two ways for NTA Girl Scouts to participate in the 2012 Cookie Sale.  Option 1. If this option is not viable in a given area the participant may choose Option 2. Before participating in the 2012 Cookie Sale Program, all NTA Girl Scouts need to submit a signed Permission and Responsibility Form to the Product Sales Department and must be registered with Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines for the 2011-2012 membership year. To participate in the 2012 cookie sale please contact the Product Sales Department at cookies@nccoastalpines.org.

Option 1 – Selling as an Individual
  • The NTA Girl Scout would notify the Product Sales Department at the Raleigh Service Center of her interest in participating in the Cookie Sale Program. The Product Sales Department would make arrangements with the local Area Cookie Manager and/or Membership Director to provide training and materials to the girl.
  • The NTA Girl Scout’s parent or guardian would place cookie order(s) directly with the Product Sales Department and orders would be in full case (12 boxes of the same variety) increments. Orders received by January 22, 2012 would be processed with the rest of the orders in the NTA Girl Scouts local county/area and would be picked up during the county/area’s initial delivery between February 6 and 11, 2012. A check or money order payable to Girl Scouts – NCCP for 50% of these orders would be due to the Product Sales Department by February 28, 2012. Full payment for all cookies received by the NTA Girl Scout is due to the Raleigh Service Center by March 13, 2012.
  • The Product Sales Department would make arrangements for the NTA Girl Scouts parent or guardian to pick up orders received after January 22, 2011 on an as-needed basis depending on the Pathways Participant’s location. Every effort would be made to select the closest possible location for the NTA Girl Scout's parent or guardian to pick up cookies.
  • NTA Girl Scouts would earn recognitions, patches, and rewards (such as the Superstar Destinations and Cookie Dough) like any other participating girl.
  • NTA Girl Scouts would not retain proceeds for cookie sales but may request up to $.45 for each box sold to help pay for council sponsored events as listed in the council’s Lead On, GO!, Summer Fun Guide, or Girl Scout destinations (contingent upon application and selection) by completing the J-1 Request For Funds. Funds must be requested by December 31, 2012 and used by May 31, 2013.

Option 2 – Partner with a Troop

  • The NTA Girl Scout would be treated just like any other troop member throughout the Cookie Sale Program and would, therefore, be trained, turn in a signed Permission and Responsibility Form before selling, and pay the troop for cookies by the specified deadlines.
  • All proceeds from the NTA Girl Scouts' cookie sales would be retained by the troop. The troop and the NTA Girl Scout should decide before she begins selling cookies if and how the NTA Girl Scouts would participate in trips or events paid for with cookie sale proceeds. The NTA Girl Scouts would not be automatically included in such trips or events; a decision to include her would depend on the individual circumstances of the troop. Of course we would expect a troop to do everything possible to include a NTA Girl Scout since her sales helped make the trip/event possible. The troop could work with the NTA Girl Scout to pay for an event or project that the Pathways Participant chooses (for example, if the NTA Girl Scout wants to go on the council’s Savannah trip, the troop could pay a portion of her registration fee).
  • If a NTA Girl Scout partners with a troop that elects the 45¢ Proceeds Plan, the NTA Girl Scout would earn recognitions, patches, and rewards (such as the Superstar Destinations and Cookie Dough) based on the number of boxes sold just like any other participating girl in the troop.
  • If a NTA Girl Scout partners with a troop that elects the 50¢ Proceeds Plan, she would receive patches but not recognitions based on the number of boxes she sold, just like the other participating girls in the troop.
