Now is the time to stock up on your favorite Girl Scout Cookies – at least until next year! The 2017 Girl Scout Cookie Program, otherwise known as the most delicious time of the year, is coming to an end on Sunday, March 5. Now through the end of the sale, customers will have the opportunity to purchase their favorite cookies such as the new and popular Girl Scout S’mores™ Cookie and all-time favorites Thin Mints®, Lemonades®, and Carmel deLites®. Additionally, customers will have the opportunity to make any last-minute donations to Operation Cookie Drop, a council-wide service project benefitting military troops by providing a sweet taste of home through donated Girl Scout Cookies.
For 100 years, Girl Scouts have been using the power of the cookie to help build everyday leaders and make the world a better place. From traveling to new places like Europe or Costa Rica, to funding community service projects and philanthropy efforts, to attending skill-building programs in STEM, financial literacy, healthy living, and environment stewardship - the Girl Scout Cookie Program supports girls on their path to leadership while broadening their experiences and opportunities.
With the end of the Cookie Program in sight, there is still time to help power new and unique experiences for your local Girl Scouts as girls will be stationed at cookie booths throughout central and eastern North Carolina through Sunday, March 5. Customers can locate booth sales near them by using the online cookie booth locator at www.nccoastalpines.org and search by zip code and mile radius.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a true financial literacy program, teaching girls essential skills to succeed personally and professionally, including goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. These five skills are important ingredients in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Through the program, girls become leaders in business and sales, learn how to manage finances, and gain self-sufficiency and confidence in handling money.
This year’s cookie lineup boasts ten varieties including the new Girl Scout S’mores Cookie, Thin Mints®, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Shortbread, Thanks-A-Lots®, Caramel deLites®, Lemonadesä, and gluten-free Trios®. Each variety sells for $4.00 per box
Additionally, the popular Buy 5 Program returns for the 2017 program. By purchasing five boxes, customers are also eligible to enter a drawing to win a year’s worth of their favorite Girl Scout Cookies. Customers that purchase five or more boxes at a cookie booth will receive a Buy 5 coupon with instructions on how to enter.
