Girl Scouts across central and eastern North Carolina can barely contain their excitement as the popular Girl Scout S’mores™ cookie will return as a part of the 2018 Girl Scout Cookie Program lineup. And what better time to announce the comeback of one of the fastest cookies to take the consumer market by storm than National S’mores Day. With its debut last season, the Girl Scout S’mores™ made a huge impact by becoming the highest rollout of a Girl Scout cookie in Girl Scout cookie selling history.
The crispy graham cookie double-dipped in a crème icing and enrobed in a chocolatey coating was released in celebration of 100 years of Girl Scouts selling cookies. This clever take on the time-honored campfire treat was developed in response to consumer trends and it is vegan and free of artificial colors, preservatives, and partially hydrogenated oils.
And while consumers can rejoice that their newest favorite sweet treat will be back in 2018, Girl Scouts are looking forward to having the Girl Scout S’mores™ available at their cookie booths as well. Girl Scouts from across the council noticed the impact the new cookie made on their sales, with this year’s top three sellers all surpassing the 5,000 boxes sold mark for the first time in the council’s Cookie Program history.

Consumers can expect to get their hands on the Girl Scout S’mores™ starting January 13, with the start of the councils 2018 Cookie Program. The tradition of making and enjoying s’mores in the outdoors was popularized by Girl Scouts as early as the 1920s; it portrays Girl Scouts’ longstanding commitment to all the outdoors has to offer girls.
