Every life changing leadership opportunity at Girl Scouts is made possible by our incredible volunteers. At over 9,500 strong, Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines’ volunteers are doing everything from co-leading a troop of Daisies to certifying a group of girls in First Aid and CPR to coordinating the cookie program in their area to running their own local day camp. Every day Girl Scout volunteers are making a different in the lives of the girls they serve.
When an adult registers to be a Girl Scout volunteer, he/she are not only making an impact on the girls served, but on the community around them. Girl Scouts prepares girls for a lifetime of leadership by taking them out of their comfort zone and showing them they are capable of more than they ever imagined and volunteers guide them to take the path to do so.
For over a century, Girl Scouts has focused on empowering and inspiring girls to become bold and courageous leaders of today and tomorrow. The constant support of our volunteers allows us to continue to bring new and updated programs and activities in a variety of fields – including STEM, outdoors, financial literacy, and more that allow girls to transform their ideas into actions and grow their confidence through practice.
Not only are Girl Scout volunteers improving the lives of the girls around them – they are making a difference in their own life. According to the Girl Scout Research Institute (GSRI) 95% of volunteers say they make girls’ lives better at Girl Scouts and 88% of volunteers say their volunteer experiences with Girl Scouts makes their life better.
Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines provides girls with a safe, girl-led environment where they can try new things, face her fears, and inspire others. Girl Scout volunteers help girls build that foundation so she can embrace her inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, and Leader) ™ while gaining a well-rounded experience and building important leadership skills.
Serving over 26,000 girls, Girls Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines is looking to expand its reach and ensure every girl has the chance to lead. Now more than ever, we are in need of volunteers to help provide girls with leadership experiences. Girl Scouts provides volunteers with a ton of great online resources to help them succeed. One of the most powerful online tools is our Volunteer Toolkit (VTK). This wonderful planning resource can be accessed by troop volunteers and parents and includes meeting and year plans (including activities, supply lists, and more), troop communication tools, and a parent-view to keep up with troop activities.
Girl Scout volunteers empower every girl to be heard, to lead, and to shine while helping girls discover endless opportunities to become big thinkers, thought leaders, and groundbreakers who are making the world a better place. As a Girl Scout volunteer, your service, dedication, and desire to build the next generation of strong female leaders will serve as a lasting legacy here in North Carolina and beyond.
