The final days are counting down for customers to get their hands on their favorite Girl Scout Cookies! Next week offers the last chance to purchase these sweet treats, with Sunday, March 6, 2016, marking the end of the 2016 Cookie Sale at Girl Scouts – NC Coastal Pines.
“When customers purchase a box of Girl Scout Cookies, they are supporting a program helping girls grow into leaders in their own life, in business, and in their communities,” said Lisa Jones, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts – NC Coastal Pines. “These are more than just cookies – they’re opportunities.”
There is still time to support girls! Girl Scouts will be stationed at various cookie booth locations throughout the Girl Scout Council’s 41-county footprint across central and eastern North Carolina. Customers can locate booth sales near them by using the Find Cookies! booth locator at www.nccoastalpines.org and simply entering in a zip code.
This year’s cookie lineup boasts nine varieties including the longtime favorite Thin Mints®, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Shortbread, Thanks-A-Lots®, Caramel deLites®, Lemonadesä, and gluten-free Trios®. Each variety sells for $4.00 per box.
The Girl Scout Cookie sale is about much more than cookies. At its heart, this almost 100-year old fundraiser is focused on financial literacy, leadership development and community engagement. Girl Scouts and volunteers work hard during the sale to learn and develop the 5 Skills of the Cookie Program - goal setting, money management, teamwork, business ethics and people skills. Cookie money helps Girl Scouts and their troop do like going to Girl Scout camp, taking a trip abroad with their troop, and even giving back to their communities.
“We want to thank our customers and our communities for their continued support of this time-honored fundraiser here at Girls Scouts. Their donation helps yield a powerful return – confident girls who will be tomorrow’s leaders,” added Jones.
