I can’t wait to…Go to Spring Leaderee!

01 Feb 2014

It's that time again! Spring Leaderee is now open for registration. Join your fellow volunteers and staff for an amazing day of activities, learning, and fun!

What is Leaderee, anyway?

Leaderee is one of Girl Scouts—North Carolina Coastal Pines large scale training and networking weekends for volunteers.  Leaderee is held twice a year—once in the Fall and once in the Spring.  It is a great opportunity to network with other Girl Scout leaders, learn ways to enhance the programs you are leading with your girls, and take part in fun, outdoor activities that girls can do.  This is your chance to live like a girl—and enjoy being a Girl Scout! Learn how to canoe, be a risk taker and try a challenge course, or learn how to knit…the opportunities are endless!

Do I have to be a Troop Leader to come to Leaderee?

No, all volunteers can attend. Although many of the sessions and workshops hosted at Leaderee are targeted for our Troop volunteers, workshops are open for all volunteers.

What types of sessions and workshops will be offered?

Have you been thinking about becoming First Aid and CPR trained?  Ever wanted to learn how to become an archery instructor?  Or are you interested in fellowship and making swaps with other adults involved in the movement?  Then this opportunity is for you—no matter what capacity you volunteer!  Check out the list of workshops listed on C.O.R.E.  You are sure to find something that sparks your interests!

Are overnight accommodations available?

Absolutely! Spending the night and camping with other volunteers will enhance your experience!  We welcome all volunteers to stay Friday night, Saturday night or both! We have options for adults to stay in cabins or tent camping.  Check out C.O.R.E. for details on pricing and accommodations.  The workshops will take place during the day on Saturday, thus, staying the night is not required. However, Friday night and Saturday night activities allow for time to share stories and memories with other volunteers throughout our council.

Can I apply for financial assistance?

We understand that the more training you attend, the more you are paying to stay involved.  Financial assistance is available for adult training opportunities.  Check out the council website for the financial assistance form.  Adults are eligible for up to one third of the event cost.  Please contact volunteer services at volunteerservices@nccoastalpines.org for questions regarding financial assistance.
