Outdoor Skills Planning & Overnight (Adult Training)
Troops who participate in camping activities are required to have an Outdoor skills certified adult.
Outdoor skills is offered in 2 parts - a planning session AND an overnight component where adults will learn how to prepare and implement a successful Girl Scout camping trip! Troop leaders may recruit parents/helpers to take this course and serve as the outdoor-trained adult.
Outdoor-trained volunteers must be registered members & have successfully completed a criminal background check through the council. Both of these items need to be completed prior to registering for training. Both planning and overnight sessions must be completed by the same person to be an outdoor trained adult.
Volunteer Essentials is highly recommended for non-leaders prior to the outdoor skills class.
Participants must attend both sessions.
