In 2017, Girl Scouts of the USA announced a Planned Gift Challenge that could result in over $2 million in support for our Movement – and which contains $14,000 for Girl Scouts – NC Coastal Pines – unprecedented in our history!
The vision of the Dianne Belk & Lawrence Calder Challenge and the Erik & Eva Andersen Challenge is to spark our Movement to increase efforts to grow existing planned giving programs and implement planned giving programs where none currently exist. When donors make planned gifts, they can often make a greater impact on the next generation of G.I.R.L.s in ways meaningful to their experience and involvement.
The Challenges contain criteria designed to enable councils to grow their Juliette Gordon Low (JGL) Society membership and planned giving awareness.
When donors make planned gifts, they can often make a greater impact on the next generation of G.I.R.L.s in ways meaningful to their experience and involvement. These gift commitments provide sustainability and support far into the future – ensuring that Girl Scouting will remain for years to come.
In addition to ensuring the legacy of Girl Scouting lives on for generations to come, JGL Society members are recognized with an annual introductory pinning ceremony and are invited to attend a yearly recognition banquet/luncheon. Members are also listed in our Donor Roll and receive special invitations to premier events throughout the year.
Joining JGL Society of Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines is as easy as notifying us of your planned gift intentions. Providing a gift in your estate plans can include naming Girl Scouts as beneficiary of the following:
• Retirement Plan
• Living Trust
• Donor Advised Fund
• Life Insurance Policy
• Charitable Remainder Trust
• Charitable Lead Trust
• Remainder Gift of Real Estate
• Any other gift that benefits Girl Scouts in the future
